Cornerstone Youth Centre Society (Calgary)

We are a free, after-school drop-in center, located in a small bungalow in the heart of Mayland Heights and open our doors daily to youth grades 6-9, to provide a safe and caring place for kids to go after school for sports, homework help, hot food, and mentoring.?Thanks to the support of 100 Men one year ago, Cornerstone Youth Centre is now in a fantastic position to expand and open a new centre in a new neighbourhood and help another 100 Junior High aged youth a year discover their passion and potential.

MitoCanada Foundation

Making Changes Employment Association

MC is looking to make its Walk in Closet facility “man friendly.” While the primary focus will remain on providing clothing for women entering the workforce MC realizes that style centric support services for men are few and far between. A comfy waiting area, upgrades to maintain the privacy of the change rooms and a comprehensive support centre to assist the husbands of the female participants will be built.

Stardale Women’s Group Inc. Foundation

This charity fills a much needed gap for Aboriginal girls in the Calgary area. The girls in the program have all experienced various levels trauma

The funds raised by 100 who Give a Dam will be used for a new project which is to strengthen the creative processes, literacy skill sets and guide young Indigenous girls into roles of leadership. To make the project successful, we need funds that would cover the costs of: Space rental – $4,500; Resource materials – $3,000; Meals & nutrition ? $2,500

Centre for Suicide Prevention

Men die by suicide 4 times as often as women. With the recent downturn in the economy, numbers have increased dramatically. We provide life-saving training to community members, and have trained staff at more than 300 diverse agencies including Enbridge, Distress Centre, Alberta Health Services, Calgary Transit, and Calgary Police Service.

Women’s Centre of Calgary

The Women’s Centre of Calgary is the only off-campus women’s only drop-in space in Calgary. They serve a large population of women from diverse backgrounds, including many women who are living in poverty, struggling with addiction and/or have experienced violence.

Dreams Take Flight Calgary

Some kids are facing physical challenges, while others are facing social challenges and some have multiple challenges. Most kids have never been away from a parent, many have never been on an airplane, and none of them have ever been to Disneyland. Each of these children, at one time or another, has cried out ? ?why me? or ?what did I do to deserve this? or ?it?s not fair?. All funds raised in Calgary will go to the Calgary chapter and benefit Southern Alberta kids.

The Epilepsy Association of Calgary is a charitable social service agency established to address community, individual and family needs, related to epilepsy. Our mission is to support independence, quality of life and community participation for those with and affected by epilepsy.

Give a Mile Inc.

We provide flights of compassion dealling with palliatave illness, Flight are for mother brother etc to be with the ill one. 100% volunteer. In just over 2 years over 200 flights. We provide flights by using donated air miles but the taxes and airport fees must still be paid. We have the miles for another 50 flights we just need money to pay the fees. the $10,000 would account for another 60 flights

Brown Bagging For Calgary’s kids

Through the work of community groups and volunteers, we provide lunches for approximately 2,800 kids each day. Lunches are prepared in our main kitchen, and in various other locations by community groups including retirees, parent groups and local businesses.
Nourishment is available to any young person who arrives at school without enough to eat. BB4CK works with school staff members to identify needs and to plan how best to make sure hungry students get the nutrition required to think clearly and learn. By enabling better education outcomes, BB4CK gives students a hand up, not just a handout.

Breakfast Club of Canada

Breakfast Club of Canada was founded on the belief that every child has the right to succeed in life, to grow in their self-confidence, and most of all, have safe and reliable access to food. BCC operates 25 breakfast programs in Calgary and there are 19 schools waiting for support.

We would provide a school with equipment, funding, training and support to start up or enhance an existing program. $10,000 may be able to open 2 programs, depending on their size and equipment needed.?

Dare to Care Bully Prevention & Life Skills Inc.

The Dare to Care program is considered by many administrators and teachers to be the most effective and comprehensive Bully Prevention program available in Canada. While initially created to tackle school based bullying, Dare to Care also delivers programs for Sporting organizations, Community groups and the Workplace.
