NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank Association

NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is Canada’s only community-based milk bank. Operating as a charitable organization, NorthernStar screens breastfeeding mothers, accepting donations of excess milk from approved donors to be pasteurized in our laboratory. Milk is then dispensed to sick babies in hospitals and at home. We believe, and science supports, that human milk is the best option for any baby and that all babies have the right to the life-saving nutrients of pasteurized donor human milk.

Breakfast Club of Canada

For 20 years, Breakfast Club of Canada has been nourishing children?s potential by making sure as many of them as possible have access to a healthy morning meal before school, in an environment that allows their self-esteem to grow and flourish. But the Club is much more than a breakfast program: we take a broader approach that promotes the core values of engagement, enrichment and empowerment, and we team up with communities and local partners to develop solutions adapted to their specific needs. Operating from coast to coast, the Breakfast Club of Canada helps feed 163 000 students every day in 1,455 schools.

Helping Families Handle Cancer

Helping Families Handle Cancer was founded in 2008. They are a new Not-For-Profit Organization specifically designed to aid families financially while they are dealing with cancer. Cancer creates an enormous strain on a family, both emotionally and financially. They aim to alleviate some of this stress by providing monetary support to those in need. Having a child with a life threatening illness such as cancer puts much additional stress on a marriage, and often contributes to divorce or separation. This stress can also cause temporary or long term health issues for the parent(s).?It is our hope that a family afflicted by cancer, can put their energy into caring for their child, instead of struggling to pay bills or ordinary living expenses.

Heart & Solar

Heart and Solar identifies various charitable organizations across Canada which will benefit from the use of renewable solar energy systems to reduce regular energy costs. Heart and Solar will then raise funds to purchase and construct solar energy systems for these charitable organizations.
