1 -?Generations of Hope

The Generations of Hope Fertility Assistance Fund was conceived in 2005 as an initiative of the Regional Fertility Program, Calgary. The primary objective of the Fund is to help patients of the Regional fertility program in Calgary who wish to conceive a child, but who are facing fertility challenges in the pursuit of their dream, and who also face serious financial challenges that make the hope offered by assisted reproductive technology through the Regional Fertility Program – particularly In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) – an unaffordable option for them.

2 -?Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta

The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta is a charitable organization that helps families fighting childhood cancer in Alberta. Our programs are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the whole family at each stage of the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. The foundation helps Alberta children and families by providing funding and programs in four key areas: Camp, Outreach, Research, Hospital Programs & Scholarships

3 -?The Calgary Between Friends Club – Fun and Fellowship for Disabled Youth

Between Friends has been offering social and recreational programs in Calgary and the surrounding area for over 30 years. Through our programs, we endeavour to benefit all people and increase the community?s awareness, positive attitudes, and sensitivity towards their fellow citizens with disabilities.

Between Friends was originally established in 1970, as the Pink Pelican Club, by a group of parents seeking social, recreational, and community based activities for their teenagers with disabilities. The Pink Pelican Club rapidly expanded as?programs provided a bridge for community participation.

4 -?Calgary Reads (An Early Literacy Initiative) Society

Calgary Reads acts as a bridge between home and school, working to create communities where reading matters. We engage corporate partners, champions, networks and systems (including education and health care) in this process. Find free literacy-building and reading resources including games and books, and learn about our many?programs and initiatives. 5 -?Breakfast Club of Canada

Children should go to school hungry for knowledge, not hungry for food. When you realize that 60% of learning happens before lunch, it becomes clear why breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. When children get a balanced meal in a positive, stimulating environment, there are marked improvements in.

6 -?Cornerstone Youth Centre

Cornerstone is a place where the community?s junior high youth can come to find solace from whatever issues that life may be dealing them. They can be assured that they will be greeted by friendly staff and volunteers who are willing to lend an ear and can be positive role models. Youth will find numerous fun activities to do and will be able to build relationships with other youth, the staff and volunteers. The centre is a place where youth are encouraged to be themselves and discover their passion and potential.

7 -?Hull Services

Providing leading edge and effective behavioural and mental health services for children and families. Hull is a leader in advocating and engaging others towards realizing the vision.
Hull Services helps children, adults, and families who experience significant mental health, behavioural and developmental challenges. We use our expertise to help move them to success, and actively confront the barriers to wellness in our whole community.

8 -?Independent Living Resource Centre Calgary (ILRCC)

Beginning in 1981, the International Year of the Disabled, a series of successful projects were developed to review and define the concept of independent living in Calgary.

In 1984, the Calgary Association for Independent Living (CAIL) was created as a consumer controlled, non-profit society. After initially being involved with the Joshua Committee Demonstration Project and being the driving force behind brokerage and its concept acceptance in Calgary, CAIL concentrated on its core programs.

9 -?Dreams Take Flight Calgary

Dreams Take Flight is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing the trip-of-a-lifetime to medically, mentally, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children.

Dreams Take Flight took wing in 1989, when a group of Air Canada employees in Toronto organized a trip that took 70 special needs children on board a DC-9 aircraft to Walt Disney World in Florida.

In 1993, Air Canada employees in Calgary raised enough money to send 50 children to Disneyland in California. The organizing committees in Calgary and Vancouver shared a Boeing 767 aircraft on October 16, 1993 for the Dreams Take Flight adventure. This was the birth of Dreams Take Flight in Calgary.

10 – Ups and Downs

Ups and Downs – Calgary Down Syndrome Association?provides education and support for parents and social activities for children and adults with Down syndrome in Calgary and surrounding areas. Our vision is to secure a future where all individuals with Down syndrome and their families feel supported and connected in a community that fosters an environment of acceptance and inclusion.
