Man, what a night! Despite having a new venue, you guys packed the house with attendance being well over 100. So honestly, thank you for making last night’s meeting one of the most successful ones we’ve had.

Below is a recap of the charities who presented, and how the evening played out.

Before we get into it though, if you didn’t get a chance to attend last night, please click below to donate to our charity of choice.

1. Cornerstone YYC?Was The Winner!

The charity we selected was Cornerstone Youth Centre,?and we couldn’t be?more proud?to support a cause committed to providing junior high?youth with a safe place from whatever issues that life may be dealing them.

They can be assured that they will be greeted by friendly staff and volunteers who are willing to lend an ear and can be positive role models.

If you could not attend last night don’t worry, you don’t have to miss out, click here to fulfill your commitment.

2. Dreams Take Flight Took 2nd Place

David did a great job presenting for his organization Dreams Take Flight. They bring?medically, mentally, physically, socially or emotionally challenged children on?the trip-of-a-lifetime, Disneyland!

All within 24 hrs, they take up to 150 kids on a 767 donated by Air Canada, whisk them to the happiest place on earth, spend the day and fly them back home. Amazing!

3. Calgary Humane Society

Did you know that the Calgary Humane Society has been around since 1922?

Their mission is clear: To help as many animals as they can. As Calgary?s first animal welfare organization, they provide more than just shelter but education and violence prevention focused on creating a more compassionate tomorrow.
They are also Calgary?s only open-admission animal shelter, and this means one simple thing:?We never say no. ‘We never turn an animal away. When they need us, we respond.’

Guest Speaker, Jim Button – Village Brewery

We were honoured to have Jim Button of?cherished local,?Village Brewery.

Jim spoke about community, how it’s the foundation of Village Brewery’s philosophy. So when they say ‘It Takes A Village’, they mean it, they live by it and have participated in over 750k events in under 3 years.

Jim was only too happy to join us, as we represent the same philosophy as they do. He did a great job speaking and we are ever grateful for his words and of course, his fantastic ‘social lubricant’.

Also, we wanted to share Jim’s second love, The Village Brewery’s Give A Sh*t Index. Not sure what it is? We’ll let your curiosity click the link.
