Returning Recipient

First, Oneball came back and told us how they allocated the $10k+ they received from us at our last meeting.
These guys have amazing humour despite having faced a terrible illness. You have to give them credit for seeing the glass have full! Truly amazing guys! All in all, the money was put to good use and we?re grateful they came back to tell us how the money was used. Want to contact them for more information? Here they are:

1.?The Doorway

When a young person 17-24 decides they want to get off the streets they can come to The Doorway. We are a community funded business oriented space where young people choose to participate in a community run integration project, with space to think, community members to learn with and tools to plan their lives with their own ideas. Since 1988 The Doorway has been a bridge between street and mainstream cultures where participants progressively work towards sustainable economic independence (legal income and housing).

2.?Give a Mile Inc.

We provide flights of compassion dealing with palliative illness, Flights?are for family to be with the ill one. 100% volunteer. In just over 2 years over 200 flights. We provide flights by using donated air miles but the taxes and airport fees must still be paid. We have the miles for another 50 flights we just need money to pay the fees. the $10,000 would account for another 60 flights

3.?Ups & Downs

Ups and Downs – Calgary Down Syndrome Association?provides education ?and support for parents and social activities for children and adults with Down syndrome in Calgary and surrounding areas. Our vision is to secure a future where all individuals with Down syndrome and their families feel supported and connected in a community that fosters an environment of acceptance and inclusion.

Of the 3 fantastic charities presented last night, the guys chose The Doorway to take advantage of the $10k. We are very excited for them and look forward to finding out how the money helped them reach their honorable goals.
