Last night was an incredible evening. ?Thank you to all who attended. ?I realize many of you were not able to attend and would still like to contribute. ?Although only one of the 3 charities was selected, it was a difficult choice and I think you’ll agree that all three deserve as much recognition as possible.

Here is a bit of information on the charities nominated last night:

1. Motionball

John Campbell presented on behalf of Motionball, an organization dedicated to helping Special Olympians fulfill their dreams and learn life skills through sports. ?John brought his A-Game last night and was in it to win it for a cause he is obviously very passionate about. ?He brought in a visitor that spoke to us about her experience with Motionball and it was a special experience. ?Click Here to learn more about how this this incredible organization is changing lives. ?Although Motionball was not selected last night, let’s do what we can to spread the word for them.

2. Brown Bagging For Calgary Kids

Shane Byciuk presented on behalf of Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids. ?I for one had no idea that so many children go to school everyday with nothing to eat. ?As a parent myself, it’s more than a little heartbreaking. ?For $1 a lunch per child, this organization is able to feed thousands of children who otherwise would have nothing to eat at school. ?For many of them, it is the only meal they will eat that day. ?It’s hard to believe that that can exist in a city as prosperous as ours, and is by no means limitied to the “poorer” schools in our city. ?This group did not get our vote last night, but certainly deserves our help in spreading the word. ?Click Here to learn more about their mission.

3. Helping Families Handle Cancer

Chris Carrier Presented on behalf of Helping Families Handle Cancer. ?If being a single parent is not challenging enough, imagine if, as a single parent, your child was stricken with cancer. ?With so much time devoted to caring for their child and hospital visits, many of these families lack the resources to even pay for food, utilities, rent, or hospital parking passes. ?Founded by a childhood cancer survivor raised in a single parent home, this organization is dedicated to helping these families cope financially in one of the most difficult periods of their lives. ?Ultimately, as a group we voted to pledge our donation to this group to hopefully ease the struggles of many such families in Calgary. ?We very much look forward to the report for this group in December to see how we made a difference. ?Click Here to learn more about Helping Families Handle Cancer.

We would like to thank Sharon from The Rainbow Society of Alberta for her report on last quarter’s donation. ?Our contribution actually went to fulfill a dream and a half for 2 Albertan children suffering from chronic disease. ?It was a great evening.

Thank you so much for your contribution. ?For those who have yet to make their contribution, please watch for a follow up email where we hope to make that as easy as possible.

Thanks for all you do.
