How it works
100 Men gather four times a year and donate up to $10,000 for the selected charity. That’s $40,000 dollars back into the community every year.
It’s fun and it’s easy.

Charity Nominations
- Members can nominate their chosen charity prior to every meeting.
- The only requirements are
- The charity must be based in southern Alberta (preferably Calgary)
- The donation must stay local.
- The nomination must have registered status as a charity with the government of Canada AND have an effective date of status of at least on year.
- A representative from the charity must be available to attend the meeting (but not present, more on that later!)
- The charity must be able to issue individual tax receipts for each donating member.
- The charity can’t have received a quarterly donation from 100 Men for the past 12 months.
- Two weeks prior to the meeting three charities are randomly selected to present.
The Meeting
- Friends, beverages, food and all around good times.
- First we get an update from the charity selected at the previous meeting.
- Then each nominating member presents on behalf of their charity (not the charity representative, they are there to help with questions later!)
- We have a QA and discussion period.
- And then we vote.
Charity Selection
- Votes are counted and the recipient charity is selected.
- Each member donates $100 to the selected charity!
- Regardless of the charity the members voted for they are required to donate to the recipient charity.
- Payments are usually processed the day after the meeting and include a small service charge. More on that here.
- The recipient charity receives a group donation up to $10,000!
- Tax receipts are issued by the recipient charity (usually at the end of their fiscal year, but sometimes sooner)
